Pavel Murashka

Chronicle of repression

Pavel Murashka was charged together with his both friends Ales Muchin and Andrej Gilevich. On 28 February 1998 militia arrested the three youngsters for spray-painting Zhiyvie Belarus and other slogans, including phrases of a political nature, along with painting a picture of a white-red-white flag. Criminal proceedings were instituted under three articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus:  the article 201, part 1  (malicious hooliganism), the article 96 (damage to property) and the article 205 (involvement of minors in criminal activity). Pavel Murashka was at the time 17 years old, Andrej Gilevich and Ales Muchin 18 years old.

On 8 May 1998 Pavel was found guilty and sentenced to 1 year of imprisonment in suspension.
