The Pershamaiski District Court in Minsk will hear on 28 November the charges brought against former political prisoners Vasil Parfiankou.

He is accused of violating the rules of serving preventive police supervision (the Article 421 of the Criminal Code).

Since 21 September, Vasil Parfiankou has been held in an activity therapy center in the town of Svetlahorsk, Homel region. He is expected to be escorted to the courtroom.

On 9 February, political prisoner Vasil Parfiankou was released from a detention center in Baranviche.

On 29 May 2012 Vasil Parfiankou was convicted under the Article 421 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus. Minsk’s Pershamaiski Court Judge Siarhei Bandarenka found him guilty of breaking the rules of preventive supervision. The restrictions for a period of one year were imposed on him on January 5, 2012. The reason for this was Parfiankou’s involvement in social and political life.

On 24 July, the Minsk City Court dismissed Parfiankou’s appeal against a 6-month arrest for non-compliance with the preventive supervision restrictions. On 9 August 2012 Vasil Parfiankou was arrested again.
