Political prisoner was allowed to meet in a penal colony with a Catholic priest – Father Dzmitri of the Diocese of Slutsk.
According to mother of the political prisoner, Maryna Lobau, a meeting took place in the presence of an officer of prison administration of penal colony No. 22, where Eduard is serving his sentence and lasted about an hour, informs «Radio Racyja”.
“He was visited by father Dzmitri. Eduard received communion and confession. The confession was attended by the head of the colony. It is difficult to organize a confession in the presence of a third party, let alone talk freely. We agreed that in two months father Dzmitri will again visit Eduard », – said Maryna Lobau.
Eduard Lobau has already met twice before with the same priest.
Eduard Lobau was sentenced to four years of imprisonment on the basis of falsified evidence of an assault. Dzmitri Dashkievich, the leader of “Young Front,” was sentenced two years’ imprisonment in the same case.
The trial has not proved guilty members of the “Young Front” and their testimony testified that they became victims of special services provocation. Lobau’s and Dashkievich’s imprisonment was a preventive measure used by special services and police due to then upcoming presidential election.
