Hospital No. 2  in Minsk refused to give the medical documents confirming Ihar Alinevich’s heart disease.

Ihar Alinevich’s health condition is very serious. Ihar  is serving a sentence in a penal colony in Novopolotsk. His mother, Valentina Alinevich, informed that Ihar asked in a letter to send him the medical documents confirming his heart disease. The documents are in hospital no. 2 in Minsk, where he was being treated earlier. Valentina Alinevich went to the hospital and was promised to be given the documents as soon as possible, but it turned out that she was unnecessarily waiting for the documents in the hospital.

“I’ve been waiting for two hours. Chief of the department called somewhere and at the end said that they could not give me the documents. He told me that he was given such an order.” – says Mrs. Alinevich.

“My son was tortured and beaten, put in a jail and now they try to destroy him. If the state took control of political prisoners, they should take care of their health. I am not talking about transferring them to the sanatoriums, but about basic things” – ads mother of the political prisoner.

Ihar Alinevich is a Belarusian anarchist. On May 27, 2011 is found guilty of participating in the attack on the Russian embassy in Minsk, the arson of the Belarus Bank, the attack on the casino “Shangri La” and the anti-militarist manifestation near the General Staff headquarters and was sentenced to 8 years of colony with the reinforced regime for group hooliganism and intentional destruction of property.
