All postcards to Jauhien Vaskovich returned back

Activists of the Belarusian Christian Democracy party from Babruisk  as well as some other activists sent postcards to the political prisoner by registered mail, but all of them were returned back.

All postcards had “out of home” stamp on them, BCD coordinator in the Mahilou region Taisia Kabanchuk told the BCD press service.

We remind that pressure on Jauhien Vaskovich from the prison authorities intensified after he had refused to apply for a pardon two times.

Jauhien Vaskovich was detained on January 17 in Mahilou the day after a picket of solidarity with Belarusian political prisoners. He was accused of attacking the KGB building in Babruisk on the night of October 16/17, 2010. No one was injured during the attack, but the damage to the building was estimated at 253,000 rubles. The damage was compensated, but Jauhien Vaskovich was sentenced to seven years in a medium security penal colony.
