Former political prisoner Dubski is on wanted list

Artsiom Dubski has been living outside Belarus for two years now. His friends told him he was placed on the wanted list. His photos were noticed at a police station in Asipovichy. Dubski wrote on his Facebook account:

“A friend of mine from my home town has just sent me photos from the information board near the police station. It turns out that I am on the wanted list! I wonder what I have done during two years of my absence in Belarus.”

Artsiom Dubski was arrested on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border on February 13, 2009. The young activist was accused of violation of the rules of serving punishment in the “case of 14” (14 young activists got prison terms and non-custodial sentences for participating in rallies of small businessmen). Dubski was sentenced to restriction of liberty in Asipovichy, where he is registered. Dubski left for Ukraine after a new criminal case had been opened against him.

The court of Asipovichy sentenced Artsiom Dubski to a term in a correctional colony in Mahilou. In 2009, Amnesty International declared the activists involved in the “case of 14” prisoners of conscience.
