A lawyer of Jauhien Vaskovich was told that the political prisoner had again been transferred to a solitary confinement cell in the Mahilou penal colony, this time for seven days.
“The prison administration apparently have no plans to stop repressions against the political prisoner due to his refusal to apply for a pardon,” Belarusian Christian Democracy executive secretary Dzyanis Sadouski noted.
Yauheny Vaskovich, a journalist of Bobruiski Kuryer newspaper, was sentenced to 7 years in prison in 2011 on accusations of setting fire to the KGB office in Babruisk. Pavel Syramolatau and Artyom Prakapenka were given 7-year sentence in the same case. Pavel Syramolatau was pardoned in late September and released.
