Eduard Lobau, who serves his sentence in the correctional colony No. 22 in Ivatsevichy, was permitted to have a short meeting with his mother.
The website Charter97.org has learnt the news from Eduard’s mother Maryna Lobava.
– Eduard met with a priest on Tuesday. I visited him on Wednesday. We talked for two hours through a glass barrier. He is healthy and in a good mood. I took a package with me and the prison staff gave it to Eduard – she said.
Maryna Lobava noted Eduard continued to take welding lessons at a vocational school in the colony.
– He tries to use knowledge in practice. They have both theory and practice. The prison authorities don’t create problems here. That’s good – the mother of the political prisoner added.
Eduard Lobau and Young Front leader Zmitser Dashkevich were detained in Minsk on 18 December 2010, on the eve of the presidential election. Their arrest was a preventive measure organized by the security services and the militia.
