Aliaksandr Klaskouski

Born on 26 September 1978. Finished Minsk school No. 55 and entered the Faculty of Journalism of the Belarusian State University, later received a diploma in law. In 1999, he returned from military service and married a girl from the town of Bialynichy, Mahiliou region. They have three children. In 1999, he got employed as a road police inspector at the Road Police Department in Minsk. Aliaksandr was not a regular policeman, he usually spoke Belarusian, tried to draw up reports in the native language and brought independent newspapers to work. During his military service, he arrested armed car thieves and received a state prize for that. In 2005 he quit his job as an officer.

Chronicle of repression

Aliaksandr was detained on 21 December 2010 beaten and put in custody at the KGB pre-trial prison. On 26 May 2011 Aliaksandr Klaskouski was sentenced to five years in a high-security colony by the Leninski District Court of Minsk. He served sentence in the colony in Shklov. He was pardoned and released from the colony on 14 September 2011.
